A:	XY fields in your table should be stored in a numeric data type. Data type "Double" for example often gives best results. You will need to know if the XY data are Geographic coordinates in decimal degrees or projected coordinates, i.e. UTM. Information on other collection parameters, including datum and zone if applicable, is also important.
Q:	We have a .dbf table of facilities, how do we turn that into something viewable in ArcMap?
